Welcome to golf paradise, South Pacific style. Take a few minutes as you arrive to soak in the gorgeous atmosphere: the sparkling blue ponds, the glistening white-sand bunkers, the 100,000 tropical plants, the 2,500 soaring palms. It’s an amazing sight.
Oh, did we forget to mention that this oasis is none other than Bali Hai Golf Club? And it’s located right on the famed Las Vegas Strip.
This Las Vegas golf sanctuary welcomes players and it is just a driver and 3-iron from many of The Strip hotels, meaning you’re spending more time at the course and less time on the road.
“There are so many good things to say about Bali Hai, yet it would take an eternity to list them all,” says Josh Hill, vice president of marketing at Walters Golf. “To name a few, there’s the incredibly convenient location on The Strip, the unmatchable level of guest service, the immaculate, tour-quality course conditions, the unique, customizable packages with wallet-friendly prices, and, above all, the tropical tranquility that makes you feel like you’re relaxing in the South Pacific.”
The par-71 layout is a Schmidt/Curley design that reaches 7,002 yards from the tips. It’s one of those courses that has to be played to be believed.
Paradise should look this nice. Right from the start, as players walk into the massive and inviting clubhouse, the atmosphere is impressive. Whether it’s lunch or dinner at Cili, patrons will find a nicely appointed restaurant that enhances the property’s South Pacific theme to perfection. And it’s not just a spot for lunch or dinner. “With a dedicated staff of event planners and a unique, flowing space that can accommodate more than 1,000 people, Cili is an ideal venue for special occasions, business functions, weddings and more,” Hill says.
But, we’re here to play golf. On the course, players will find that elevation changes, water features and bunkers all add up to a solid test for players of every ability. From start to finish, it’s a test of shotmaking skills, nerves and putting prowess. Add in the beautiful surroundings and you’ve got an ultimate golf experience.
And the final three holes will be ones to remember. In fact, this trio may be the best closing stretch in Vegas.
The 16th is a par 3 that reaches just 141 yards from the tips. That’s the good news. The bad news is there’s an island green as your target. That sets the stage for the final two holes…both brutes. These two holes are PGA-TOUR-length par 4s as the 17th reaches 484 yards and the 18th is a couple of yards longer at 486 yards. And the 18th is brilliant in its challenge as well as beauty. After a good drive (hopefully), players will face a daunting second shot. A beach-like bunker guards the green front and right, with a deep-blue pond also coming into the picture. And if you play the 18th around sunset, prepare to be amazed as you’ll see The Strip light up in all its glory right before your eyes.
