It’s no secret that Las Vegas is considered one of the top golf destinations in the world. The combination of quality and quantity of golf courses, unparalleled off-the-course entertainment and terrific weather makes Vegas the ultimate golf city.

The 4th Annual Las Vegas World Amateur, to be played February 22 through 26, 2016, at some of the top golf courses in the area, combines every element about what makes Las Vegas such a wonderful golf locale. Golfers from around the globe will descend upon Las Vegas in the event that is organized by the Southern Nevada Golf Association. Locals are also welcome to play, but a majority of the participants come to the city from parts all over.

“The word we continually here from our past participants is ‘wow’ when they are asked how to describe the Las Vegas World Amateur,” says Ann Sunstrum, Southern Nevada Golf Association. “We are thrilled to offer our fourth annual event and we already have seen a strong interest from returning players who have signed up, plus many of those golfers are the best ambassadors for the tournament and are helping to invite golfing friends to play in the tournament in 2016.”

Las Vegas golf courses that are scheduled to be a part of the tournament in 2016 are: Revere Golf Club—Lexington and Concord; Bear’s Best Las Vegas; Angel Park Golf Club—Palms and Mountain; Desert Pines Golf Club; and Painted Desert Golf Club.

“I love golf in Las Vegas and when we found out about this tournament we immediately signed up,” says Steve Ellis, Jr., from Wyoming, who played in the event in 2015 along with his father and won low net in the final round. “We come to Las Vegas to play golf each year in June with a large group, but we will now be making this tournament an annual trip as well.”
